We recently hosted our Striving for Excellence Event at Branston Golf and Country Club for all staff members.
All Directors took the stand and delivered a talk about the history of the company which started trading in 1987, our journey to the present day, our vision for the future and our Blueprint Striving for Excellence initiative.
The Blueprint embodies a mindset centred on team unity and a pursuit of excellence in everything we do. It underlines our commitment to challenging ourselves to reach new heights. During the event we, we highlighted our “Blueprint – How we do it Safely” initiative, emphasising the importance of fostering a safety culture that elevates standards in site safety and occupational health and introduced our “Blueprint – How we do it Sustainably’ initiative.
HR updated the company regarding our current staff benefits and newly introduced staff benefits. We also had a Health and Safety update – one of our key achievements was being **RIDDOR free** 30 months along with no lost time incidents within this time-frame – such a great achievement!
Our staff participated in Teamwork throughout the day, a round of crazy golf, a team building exercise and a fun quiz.
Brendan Hall, International Keynote Speaker, was our special guest for the day, focusing on UKWS building a team that are focused on continuous improvement, not letting incumbent thinking stop innovation, whilst staying within the bounds of our safety and regulatory framework.
Our day concluded with an Awards Ceremony. Our Monthly Striving for Excellence Awards was deservedly received by Joe Firth, Commercial Manager and our Monthly Safety Award went to Phil Roberts, Site Manager.
The awards were followed by some well deserved promotions and then a few drinks in the bar!
The day was a great success – and it is thanks to all of the hardworking staff that make UKWS the great company it is today.
